The Fire Island Inlet and Crabtree Island are excellent locations for avid kayakers. The recommended skill level is intermediate to advanced paddlers due to the strong and unpredictable currents. The launch site is located south of ocean parkway about 1.2 miles east of the cross-island parkway. For those looking for more of a challenging paddle this is the place for you.
